Hacienda Verde is a 17,000 m² country estate in the Orotava Valley, in the north of Tenerife, with three independent holiday cottages inside an ethnographic park: La Era, El Castaño and Casa Azul. Each sleeps up to four, with its own kitchen and entrance; only the pool is shared. La Orotava's old town is 5–15 minutes away, Puerto de la Cruz 15 and Teide's Las Cañadas 20–30.

What sets Hacienda Verde apart is that you don't visit the countryside — you sleep in it. Three independent rural houses spread across 17,000 m² of gardens replanted over 30 years with native Canary Island flora, about 50 metres apart. Each has its own character, kitchen and entrance; all share the pool, with Mount Teide right in front.

The Orotava Valley

Mount Teide and Las Cañadas, 20–30 minutes away
Teide National Park begins a 20–30 minute drive up from the valley, and Anaga is about 50 minutes away. The trails that start from here are in hiking from La Orotava, and the cable car has its own guide.

Common questions before you book
- Where is Hacienda Verde?
- At Camino Bebedero Alto 58, La Orotava, in the north of Tenerife — at the foot of Mount Teide and 15 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz. It's a 17,000 m² country estate, not a hotel; each house is independent within the park.
- Which house is best for two, and which for four?
- All three sleep up to four, with one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. For a couple, El Castaño or Casa Azul, which have a double bed; La Era has two single beds. With children, any of the three: they sleep on the living-room sofa bed.
- Do the houses have heating?
- Yes, all three, for the cool mountain nights. They also have an equipped kitchen with oven, hob and fridge, a washing machine and wifi.
- Is the pool heated?
- No. It's a pool shared by the three houses, in the middle of the estate, open all year round and looking out at Mount Teide. As it isn't heated, from May to October it's in use without question, and in midwinter it's for the brave.
- Are pets allowed?
- Pets aren't allowed, and smoking isn't allowed inside the houses; on the terraces and in the garden, it is.
- Do I need a car?
- Yes. The estate is up a rural lane; La Orotava's old town is 5–15 minutes away by car and Puerto de la Cruz 15. It's about 30 minutes from Tenerife North Airport and around 75 from Tenerife South. Parking inside the estate is free.
- When does Casa Azul reopen?
- Casa Azul is being refurbished and is back for rental from 15 December 2026. Until then, La Era and El Castaño can be booked.
- How much does it cost and how do I book?
- From €150 a night per house for up to three guests (a fourth adds €30 a night), plus €80 cleaning per stay, with a 3-night minimum.
